Malcolm Najjar

Middle East policy adviser with over a decade of experience advancing proactive engagement and stabilization efforts in Syria and the broader region. I’ve served in advisory and research roles across the U.S. Department of State, West Point’s Combating Terrorism Center, and leading international development organizations. My work focuses on governance, armed actors, sanctions, and the regional geopolitics of the Levant and Turkey.
Fluent in Arabic and trained in international conflict resolution at Columbia SIPA, I bring field-informed analysis and deep stakeholder networks to policy, research, and diplomatic engagement. I’ve authored both confidential reporting and public commentary featured in War on the Rocks and Lawfare. Whether supporting U.S. interagency efforts, briefing donors, or leading research inside Syria, I aim to translate local complexity into actionable policy.
